On Debut, The LSG Pacer Mayank Yadav Bowled The Fastest Ball Of IPL 2024

Mayank Yadav, a 21-year-old, left Lucknow Super Giants stunned with his electrifying pace during Saturday's match, claiming 3 wickets while conceding only 27 runs. Yadav's performance was so impactful that two of PBKS's opening batsmen, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma, succumbed to his sheer pace, unable to handle the speed of his deliveries.

In addition to his remarkable performance, Yadav's exceptional pace quickly garnered the attention of cricket pundits universally. Notably, Yadav delivered the fastest ball of IPL 2024, clocking in at a staggering speed of 155.8 kilometers per hour. Moreover, the debutant bowler also unleashed three other deliveries that secured spots on the list of the season's fastest deliveries.

Yadav's stellar debut earned him the Player of the Match award, courtesy of his impactful performance, which included claiming the crucial wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and Jitesh Sharma.

During the post-match presentation, Yadav expressed, "I've often heard about debut nerves, but they fade after the first ball. My strategy was to stay composed, focus on bowling accurately at the stumps, and maximize my pace. Initially, I considered varying my pace, but the pitch conditions favored speed, and the captain encouraged me to bowl fast. My debut wicket holds a special place in my heart. Recovering from last season's injury was challenging; despite setbacks, I remained determined to debut at a young age."
